Weird fuel pressure problems on an 88 240 200

Most of the other posters have good points to follow. i have one more:

Check your underhood wiring harness for damage. Start at the ignition ECU and follow the harness by the alternator, under the crankshaft pulley and up under the intake where some of the wires exit the loom. I found a lot of damage on my 1986 240DL w/900k miles in those areas. Also check the harness from the injector harness where it connects at the firewall.

I replaced every fuel and ignition system part in my car (almost $800.00 worth of parts) and solved no problems untill I repaired the harness!

Good luck!
