u-joint c-clips 200

hi,

assembly goes smoothly doing everyhting by the book. i put the cup in place. press it onto the spider using the power of a bench vice. then i press on the other cup. then i adjust the cups a little using a socket and the vice. put first c-clip on. then other one fails to go on. so i pulled the thing apart again and all needles are in place. reassemble. but this time i try and wind the cup in using the vice and a small socket with the c-clip on the cup. i managed to get it locked in a little bit but not as good as i would like. only about 1/4 of the c-clip is in the groove. i am at a loss. i will take the thing to the maechanic tomorrow and see if he can put it on the hydraulic press or tell me what is going on.

thanks for your help.
