question about starting 200 1980

I am very unfamiliar with my car as i have not really driven it much(i have been rebuilding it since last year), it is a 1980 242GT with the b21f engine and k jet injection. My question is: when i start it after it has been sitting for maybe a day or so i have to pump the gas pedal a tad to get it going, is this ok?, my pumps are all good because i replaced them and the car runs fine(will run fine with barely any gas in it so i know my prepump is good). Could this maybe be that the car hasnt really been broken in yet?
