Motor & Trans Mounts Replaced...Now Exhaust Pipe Interference 1984 245 'Buster' 200 1984

Hey Volvo Nuts,

Just replaced the motor and automatic transmission mounts on my 1984 245 "Buster" (so named because he's brown, not because he busts alot). Now, I've got about 1/16" clearance between the exhaust aft of the catalytic converter (who says good deeds aren't repaid). Sounds great when driving as the pipe rattles against the bottom of the car.

Anybody else run into this? Thinking of putting some bends in the header pipe. Any other ideas.

The old mount at the rear of the transmission had some serious sag, maybe on the order of 1 1/2" to 2". Its possible the exhaust was replumbed at some time in the past when the sag was present. So now that the mounts are back in order, there's interference.

Thanks for your comment(s)
