how to install a small tachometer?

I came upon a Volvo tachometer (the small ones that go to the side panels.

I have with me 4 wires: a black wire, a red/blue wire, a white wire, and a red/white wire.

I'm assuming that the black wire is ground...(any ideas as to where i shoudl plug this in to my 82.

The red/blue wire whoudl be the power source wire. Any ideas for where this shoudl go?

The red/white wire seems to be the tach wire..so i'll just splice this onto the tachometer hookup behind the clock...right?

And the white wire seems to be the instrument panel light fuse? where would i hook this up to?

I'm need of some help...thanks.

BTW somebody said i had to hookup the tach wire to the coil?...is this true?
Any help would really be appreciated.
