difficulty finding TDC 200 1977

You're right - it should be. Well, the distributor could be different with advance setting, but for a confirmation of the damper notch against the timing mark, pull #1 plug and feel with the end of your finger and then a piece of coat hanger for the topmost travel of the piston. Then with the timing cover off see that the mark on the cam gear lines up with the mark on the backplate to be sure the timing belt is on right.
