Clutch pedal keeps going to the floor... 200 1980

New problem with the 1980 245 DL with an M-46...

Driving about today attending to my daily tasks, the clutch started acting up. The pedal kept getting closer and closer to the floor, until finally it was about an inch off the floor, and did nothing to help engage gears smoothly.

After just barely making it home using the good ol' "slip-shifting" technique (and starting in first when I had to come to a complete stop), I had a look under the car at the clutch cable, and tightened it up a lot. It felt okay for a little bit, but every time I hit the pedal, it would get closer and closer to the floor until the same thing happened (pedal an inch from the floor, does nothing).

What am I looking at here?

The clutch was replaced about 20K miles ago, and the clutch cable was replaced about 6 or 7 months ago.

Thanks as always.
