A/C Low Pressure Switch Replacement? 900 1993

I've had the 940 about a year.

I replaced the Condenser, Dryer, Orifice Valve last spring. A/C was OK all last summer, but does not work now.

I have diagrams and made the following checks:

Low Pressure Sensor (7/53) checks OPEN with ohmmeter (Not good)
High Pressure Sensor (7/41) checks closed with ohmeter (OK)
Clutch engages when LP switch connecter contacts are shorted (OK)

To me, these indications mean there is pressure in the system, and clutch voltage is stopped at the L P Switch (original Sw? transferred to new dryer last spring).

I guess the system has to be evacuated in order to replace the failing LP switch, right?
