Refinishing Corona center caps 200

I have taken a pitted Corona center cap [the large kind] and polished it with on a buffing wheel. Now the cap is smooth and looks like chrome,very bright.I am trying to replicate the original finish. Any ideas on what to do next? The original finish is somewhat of a satin finish.How can I get the cap to look like that? Thanks,
