Thanks Greg;

I'm not sure it needs converting after all...it does have R134A written on the rad and there's an A/C shop sticker dated summer 2002 (but it's not clear what the work they did). I'm assuming anything done in 2002 would not have been to a R12 system as they could not have serviced it.

I'm hoping the assumption was the car, being 1989, was not converted. I think (and hope) it was.
