A/C conversion HELP NEEDED! 700

I found out the sticker on the receiver/dryer is a red-tek sticker (IE company who sells refridgerant). Apparently someone just dumped a can of this in along the way.

According to the A/C guy though, the system was never converted. He claims the old fittings are still on it.(Don't know where exactly).

He said there was no leak though--tested at 200lbs w/ nitrogen so he was bit puzzled as to why it wasn't working.

Sooo, $500 + tax it is. Bit of a shock to the system but my trusted mechanic deals with this A/C shop and says he trusts them.

I've never worked on A/C before and it seemed a bit out of my league at present. I fix everything else on my cars though so maybe one day.
