On the lighter side................. 120-130

Hi all. I have a funny one for you.

I use a 1984 245 turbo as a truck. I haul all my parts in it. Today I was at one of my places and found a little Volvo transmission. Looks just like the picture of the M41 with J type OD shown in the latest IPD Vintage catelog. Thank goodness it came out when it did or I wouldn't have known to buy it. Everything is there including the shifter and I get a little excited when I learn I can have it for $20..........

I happily hand over the money and throw it the back of the 245. So later that day I start smelling the worst, stale, heavy oil stink. I think I've brought oil into the car on my feet. Then it hits me. I'm smelling old gear oil. I jam the brakes and run to the back. yep. the gear box top is loose and the tranny is on it's side and all the oil is in my carpet. After wiping oil for 20 minutes I gave up. Lucky there is the exact same 245 in one of the wrecking yards with the same cargo area carpet in the back.........what a smell.

Now I know it was a stupid thing to do but you have to just laugh sometimes.......
