960 Front end 900

Upon inspection of the front end I found play in the passenger side tie rod. While pulling on it I could feel some play & hear a rattle type sound where it attaches into the rack. My records show PO had both inner tie-rods replaced at 95k

Some symptoms that I think are related:

1)I get a knock from the front end while backing out of a parking space and turning wheel almost full lock in either direction.

2)Shimmy in steering wheel at speeds of 68+mph. Wheels have been rotated and balanced 3 times with no change.

3)Outer edges of front tires wear as if toed-in too much. Slightly choppy edges as if scrubbing. This after 2 alignments. One at Indy shop & second at dealer. No change. Rears wear perfectly smooth and even.

Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks.
