rear main seal replace, now on start 700

Does the flywheel need to be clocked to the crank sensor, I did not mark it's original position? Since the no start I've cleaned the throttle body and the flame trap [this was the original problem], changed the fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Car will start but die out with the slightest throttle touch. All I can think of is the crank sensor got hit during the trans removal or re-install. Any help appreciated Joe
