Thank you all for your input. Rule 308, you were correct. This morning the shudder is totally gone when I turn right slowly and almost gone from the left turn as well. I think your theory about air getting in when wheels are turned manually is probably correct as it worked out just as you described.

So glad I don't need new power steering, suspension or a new front end---yet!
