Tire - size and brand - the best ride? 700

Hi again,

My tires need to be replaced soon. Currently it has 195/65 R15 Goodyear GA. I'm looking for a nice, comfy and quiet ride for the family and it has to handle well in rain too (it rains almost every day where I live). The door sticker says 195/60 R15 for sedan and I'm thinking of changing to that as the 60 series are cheaper. I had a look at the reviews on tirerack.com and been asking around and getting mixed opinion on the best brands.

First question is would my ride suffer much in changing to a lower profile tire? Or would it unnoticeable with good tires?

In terms of brand my 740 originally came fitted with Bridgestone. I've read great reviews with Kumho and Yokohama but over here those brands are way expensive. I'm pretty much limited to Goodyear, Bridgestone, Michelin, Dunlop and Continental.

Appreciate anybody's own experiences. Thanks a lot.
