i guess i wasnt clear....25k miles ago i replaced oil pump, rod bearings, timing belt, tension pin holding camshaft gear, water pump belts hoses plugs etc....5 days ago, out of the blue as i was driving, a hard knock under throttle occured, then it began to run poorly...it seemed as if the valve timing was improper...i inspected and found the tensioner was frozen and replaced tensioner and new belt... still have that poor running and knock...if i hadnt triple checked i would assume valve timing...ive got it tore back down and cant find whatever the problem is.....to run poorly and knock there are limited things it could be....but i check these things (valve timing and all things associated w/valve timing) and all seems well ....im beside myself..so ...i guess ignition timing rears its ugly head ...but the onset of the problem was sudden...this leads me to if ignition timing is suspect then for it to have been a sudden onset then it must be a sheared pin or something like that...if i had not replaced oil pump and rod bearings and then put 25k miles on it with no hint of any problem then it sounds like rod bearings in a way
again ....this isnt my first rodeo but i STILL think its valve train problem...but i cant FIND anything....however the frozen tensioner heated the belt and the timing jumped ....sigh...guess ill just start all over...but lord i could use some help
so im thinking maybe after 165K miles dist may have failed
