Volvo ownership. I want in and I want a wagon. What to get??

Hi there,
A friend of mine recently bought an older 240 wagon and has affectionately named her "Martha Stewart". She loves it and so do I. I want one for myself, but I have different needs in a car and was hoping all the knowledgeable folks here could guide me towards the one that will be right for me. I love the body style of the old 240 wagons, but from what I understand the a/c on these cars was never great. I have young children so a decent a/c is a must. I also want something that is reliable and fuel efficient. I don't need a powerful car. I just need something that can go freeway speeds at the max. So in a nutshell my main concerns are fuel efficiency, a good a/c, and a car that isn't always in the shop for this and that.

Any input will be much appreciated!!
