regarding weight of r134a

I am kind of confused about the amount of R134a to use because I went by the document that Volvo put out for the conversion from R12 to R134a. It states on the early model 740's to fill with 1100 grams of R134. On the later models and 940's it said 950 grams. I assumed they took into account the reduction of weight for the new R134 refrigerant. That would be about 3.2 cans, (mine were 340 grams each.)

If anyone else can confirm that 2.5 cans is the proper amount I would like to hear from you as well. Thanks Chrissij for shedding some light on the R134a weight.
