rear main seal upgrade 120-130

So I while I have everything apart to install an M41 with OD I am switchin to the rubber rear main and doing away with the felt, which leaked anyway. It would seem that the rubber rear main is a snug fit. Trouble is, it's too snug to fit in the new casing, but very close.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fit the seal into the casing? Tried oil and rubber mallet - nothing. Tried smoothing out casing with very fine emery cloth - nothing. Tried heating the inside of the casing with a lit match - nothing.
The only thing else I can think of to try is to freeze the gasket, but that will probably make it too brittle to work with.
Ideas??
