Headlamp Rewiring= Crimp-on or Solder connections for more electrical flow???

I plan to make up wiring harnesses for both son's 83 245 and my 89 740 to increase electrical flow to the headlamp bulbs. I am going to use 12 guage wires to get full 12 volts to them.
The last one I made up for wife's 93 245, I soldered the connections and covered them with heat shrink tubing. Works great (but see below) .
Now I just read on the BrickBoard that a CRIMP-ON connector allows more amperage to flow, than a SOLDERED connection.
Which should I use for the maximum light from my bulbs?
Gracias,
el Raidman
