A/C microswitch question 200 1988

My blower is starting to come on when the fan switch is in the off position. It does it intermittently, and it seems to be related to the warm weather. I know for sure that the A/C is all the way off, because I'm aware of that little issue. Just what is this business of a "microswitch" on the A/C control? Could it be faulty, causing my fan to turn on because the microswitch thinks that the A/C has been turned on? Is this something I can fix or adjust, or does it require replacement?
