Before I start, I would kill for a good 740/760 manual that coverred my actual model. I am now spoiled by the Bentley's and keep losing bids on the Volvo manuals on Ebay (sniped by some ruthless bastard)!
The ACC in my 760 Turbo wagon closes the vents after about 3-5 seconds of acceleration (boost). I have replaced every engine bay vac hose (many were in sorry shape) and even the little niples between the semi rigid hoses and the metal barbs. I determined that one check valve was only closing under "sharp" changes in vac and replaced it. So I am left with the inevitable conclusion that there is a leak in the actual climate control system.
I read the FAQ and if I understand thing correctly, I most likely have a leaking two-way vac motor or the connectors to them are leaking. I assumed the appropriate position in the drivers footwell then could not figure out for the life of me how to get the stupid vac lines off! If I pulled at it as if it were connected to an elbow things started moving that I did not think should be. If I pulled on the line as if it were pushed onto the centerline of the diaphram, nothing happenned.
Am I just being a weeny here or am I starting in the totally wrong place. I want to try blocking the yellow line to see if the problem goes away.
Thanks,
Onkel Udo
