radiator hose nozzle broke!!! 700 1991

The plastic nozzle thing that the radiator hose attaches to broke! I heard a hissing and saw steam coming out of my engine when i turned it off so i popped the hood and steam just started pooring out. At first I thought the hose had slipped off or broken but when i tryed to tighten the hose clamp the hose broke off with the plastic nozzle it attaches to inside of it. I didn't even get a chance to try to tighten it. The radiator is still good so i don't want to replace it but i don't see any other way to get the hose re-attached. Is there a way to "weld" plastic? why did this happen? Please help me. Thanks
