91' 940 GLE wagon starting problem 900 1991

Frustrating!!!Help!!!
My volvo has been great up until two weeks ago. Once every five days (approx.) it continues to turn over but won't start. Of course I've been stranded a few times only to have it towed to the mechanic to find that it starts fine. So far there is spark and the gas pump is fine. The crankshaft sensor was just replaced but still the problem I'm just going to pick it up as my mechanic has had it for 3 days with no problems starting. I feel another stranding coming on. Any suggestions...I'm desparate!!!
