Girling Caliper Dimples 140-160

Trying to get an insight into some brake problems I'm dealing with, I came across http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=733022 which mentions a dimple punched into the bottom of each half of a Girling caliper, and that you should be able to see two of these dimples together to assure that the caliper was assembled correctly. I have one rear caliper that (a) was mounted upside down and, therefore, couldn't be bled properly and (b) was barely doing any braking. The other one seemed to be working fine. The sick caliper shows no dimples anywhere, the well one does, but they are on the upper rear surface of the caliper, approximately at the height of the bleeder valve. Does that mean that the dimples could be anywhere on the caliper, and that they are assembled correctly as long as they are together, and that with the ones without any dimples at all you just hope for the best? I have rebuilt calipers on order and would like to have some confidence in their having been put together correctly before I go through the trouble of mounting them.
