CPR (Warmup Regulator) question 200

Hi everyone,

Can I use a Control Pressure Regulator from an 85 240 intercooled turbo on my 83 non-intercooled turbo? The CPR from the 85 (part # ending in 128) does not have any vacuum hose connections and I’m pretty sure the CPR for the 83 (part # ending in 123) does. I took the intake off of my 83 244t for wiring harness repair and vacuum hose replacement when I noticed that there was a blue valve (thermostat valve?) connected at the block with two unconnected vacuum hoses. I also noticed that there are no hoses connected to my Control Pressure Regulator. Upon closer examination of the CPR, I saw the 4 ring Audi and VW symbols stamped on the side! There are no vacuum hose connections on the side and the part wasn’t even bolted in place. Does anyone know if the hoses at the blue valve are somehow connected to the CPR? If not, what is the routing for the vacuum hoses from the two parts?

I’m aware that because of some changes in the connectors, I might have to switch a couple wires around, but I’m not sure if there would be an issue with the vacuum hoses.

Any help or input would be appreciated. If anyone has a CPR with the vacuum connections they’d be willing to sell, that’d be great too.

Thanks a lot

John
