Distributor problem 120-130

Its a B18A with a skimmed cylinder head, d cam, twin SUs and a 003 dizzie. The carbs should have KD needles (as you recommended in the original post) but I'll double check tomorrow - its nighttime here now. I'm planning to take it for a drive tomorrow so that I can advance the ignition until it pings under load. That should eliminate any timing issues and I can concentrate on the carbs then.

That hole in the intake manifold that seems to go nowhere isn't an issue is it?
