Alternator light on No instruments or turn signals?? 200 1985

Went camping this weekend in my 85 245 and on the way out the alternator light started glowing weakly and eventually went to a strong bright glow. The tach, fuel and water temp gauges all stopped working as well as the turn signals.

The clock headlights and brake lights worked fine.

I checked for wiring or fuse problems and found nothing.

Came home today and all is well, no alt light, instruments and turn signals worked fine.

I will check voltages today but I think it is charging at the moment.

I have replaced the alt and oil pressure wires from the grey connector.

Any ideas? Perhaps a failing voltage regulator?

Thanks
Dan
