Is this a bad wheel bearing, or something else? 200 1989

I am getting a kind of loud clicking/thumping noise (not quite a "clunk", but close), seemingly from the front end. It appears to vary in frequncy depending on road speed - at highway speeds I would say the frequency is maybe 2-3 Hz. I can make it go away by braking or by making right turns.

Any suggestions of how to figure out what this might be - and if it goes away on right turns, does this mean the problem is on the left or right side - I can't figure that one out!

Thanks

Rod
