240 stereo amplifier 200 1991

Hi everybody - I want to put a speaker in the center of the dash and one in the center of the rear deck of my 240 sedan.

The cutout is already there in the rear deck, the front has a location for a speaker, will a 5x7 fit in either/both locations without further cutting or do I need to get 4x6 speakers?

I also want to use the stereo amp located behind the lower center console to power them and do not know what the color code is for the input wires from the stock stereo. The output wires of the amp have been checked with a meter when I installed new 4" speakers in both fron and rear doors.

I will feed the amp with the pre-amp outputs of the new stereo, the 4" sound good but have no bass to speak of. I will also be putting some crossover networks in place to keep the lower frequencies from overpowering the 4".

I have a Bently manual but it only has the wiring color codes for the output of the amp, the input to it from the radio is not explained.

Thanks, Tim
