Question on the charging system... 200 1990

Hi all,
Recently I replaced t-belt, tensioner, accessory belts, water pump and few other maintanence stuff. The other day I noticed the dash light dimly lit during idle. It went away when I revved the engine. I also noticed ununsual fluctutation in the voltage (thanks to my in-dash voltmeter), but it never went too low. It appeared to be still charging. I know it may be associated with the alternator. The belts are tensioned to spec. The red wire is still connected. Did I accidentally disconnect something else?

TIA!
Raj
