Transmission woes, and strangeness 900 1993

Hello all,

I am having an issue with the transmission in my 93 940. When coming to a stop, the transmission does not immediately get back into 1st gear. You stop...then about a second later, you can feel it kick in. It does seem to kick in hard, but maybe that is because the vehicle is not moving.

I have checked the cables and operation with the throttle and it looks ok.

One other possible clue.. sometimes the shift up light gets stuck on. I do not see the light go on while I am driving. It goes on the next time the vehicle is started. The light goes off after a while. Sometimes playing with the OD button helps it return to normal.

oh yeah, if I accelerate before the thing kicks down, it feels like it slips a little then clunks into gear..

Any advice on what to look for?

Thank you very much.

Seth
