Optional strut tower support plates 200 1989

Do the strut tower support plates make that big of a difference? I'm talking about the optional doughnut-shaped ones that fit around the strut mount opening on the strut towers. Granted, if one was installing new struts (Boge Turbo Gas) and strut mounts, how much of a difference would one see if these support plates were installed?

Other modifications include: new front end of the car (all bushings), firewall-to-strut tower braces, and 23/21 turbo sways... on a '89 244.

Just kind of curious...
