Hello everyone, I just drove my 245 Van another 500kms, without any unexpected problems, going just fine with it's "new" alternator. It even managed to start it at every rest stop without having to hit the motor with a spanner (although it sometimes took a few goes, I need a new starter)
I also finally initiated the brick, with it's first real cold start. The car has spent almost all it's life in Sydney, in a pleasant east coast climate, and so has never seen frost. Now that it's in the mountains, it is required to start below freezing, which at the mature age of 27 it actually does. I took it out the other night covered in ice, so it's car finally fulfilled it's purpose. If I hadn't had to bypass the heater, it would be a good winter car.
Sorry, I digress, there is actually a point to this post.
I'm about to replace the sparks in my '77 B21E, since they got pretty fouled up before I found the stuck mixture needle, and then they sat for a month gummed up with coolant after I blew the head. It's probably time to treat it to some decent sparks to go with it's nice new head.
I'm using WR7's, which the book in the shop listed as the recomended plug, but I'm now using 8mm silicon leads, instead of the stock copper. Does this change what kind of plug I need? I know there's issues matching up the right resistances, and I haven't fully got my head around them yet.
Once again, thankyou for reading my ramblings.
