Will night never come? M-46 troubles, need to adjust the unajustable 700

First, let me thank you guys so much for your help tracking down my oil leak. 2 dollars in parts and a few hours of work saved me 600 dollars. I will be adding to the tip jar next week in appriciation.

Second, my m-46 no longer feels the need to help me get into first or second. This occured suddenly on my way to work this morning.
The car has 98,000 miles on it.

Here is what I have done tonight in an attempt to fix it.
1) I just drained and replaced the gear oil.
2) I checked the brake fluid to make sure the clutch was getting enough.

The clutch is not leaking.
I can get the transmission to go into first or second if I _really_ lean hard.
However, I had a friend depress the the clutch and I assited from the underside on the linkage by pressing a little bit. It would then go in fine.
The problem is this linkage does not to be adjustable.

So what can I do?

Thanks!
