do the mpg cars have chrysler ignitions? 200

Our 1983 LH-Jet has the white-cap Volvo/Chrysler ignition. 21 years now and still sparking OK. AFAIK, the distributor is the only Chrysler component in the system - the ICU is the same as ones on 1984 cars with the Bosch dist.

Given the white cap distributor's reputation as a rather delicate piece, I wouldn't mess with trying aftermarket ignition parts.

'MPG' stood for what it usually means - it was a marketing effort in times of energy "crisis" and fuel prices which looked high then - and look pretty good now! The engines were tuned slightly differently to squeeze a bit better fuel economy.
