There's quite a range of comments about the 960.A lot are from non 960 owners.
I will admit the 960 does cost a little more to maintain and as far as the timing belt issue, how many belt drive engines are interferance engines?Granted, if you lose a belt you're left with the question to repair or simply junk and replace the car.
I started driving driving volvo's after a near fatal accident in which I was driving a bimmer and will suffer the rest of my life, but I'm still breathing.
The only passenger car I can think of that is any safer,in my mind, is the mercedes wagon(correct me if I'm wrong).
Myself, wife and daughter drive volvo's and the wife and daughter could care less and would rather drive something else.I'm merely giving us the best advantage the auto world has to offer on the road.
I like the 960 for the power and luxury and would replace with the same if one should give it's life for mine. The 242 GLT did just that and the wife says any
car can hit.I went to the hospital again and she walked away.
enough rambling, just respond with your thoughts.I wouldn't care if I only got 5 mpg with what I've been through.
