synthetic oil vs. regular? 900

hi,

i bought my '93 945t last year with 101k on it in good shape. i've had to have the rear main seals replaced, but otherwise it's been great. the previous owner used synthetic oil and suggested i continue with it, which i have. but when looking deep back into the receipts, i noticed he'd had regular oil changes a couple times. one mechanic's told me it's bad to go from one to the other, another said don't worry about it. what do you say?

what are the pros and cons to begin with? and now that synthetic oil's been used the last few years, will it hurt to switch?

thanks alot,
byron

'93 945turbo 116k, '84 245 195k - won't run, want it???
