“Idle Motor” vs.“Idle Control Valve” 200 1988

On the '88 the idle is controlled by a Bosch idle control valve. This is a small motor controlled valve just ander the throttle part of the intake manifold. You could try unplugging the electrical connector, removing the two connecting hoses, and cleaning out the valve with carburetor cleaner spray. These valve can get gunked up and may then stick. I've cleaned several but never had to replace one.
