740 turbo - oil burn 700 1986

Hi all,

It only burns oil when it idles after 25 seconds or so - say after I drive and come to a red light. I have had the turbo cartridge replaced because it failed last year.

There is oil in the intercooler as I put my finger up inside and could feel (it isn't 'drainable' because there is a lip inside).

Is the oil burn probably coming from the oil in the intercooler?

How can I remove the oil from the intercooler myself?

Has anyone experienced this before and maybe it is something else?

I would not believe that it be oil leaking into the turbo or over the gaskets in the engine because my oil level is very good even when I am up for a change.

Thanks a bunch if anyone can help.

- Jason
