Odometer gear. 25 or 26 teeth and why the difference? 200

I'm on the prowl for a new odometer gear for the odometer. Upon inspection, it turned in to a non-pariel (sp?), or to dust in other words. I've found two sources for the gear, but both offer the 25 tooth critter and the 26 tooth gear. Anyone have any ideas as to what the differences are (aside from one tooth) and the correct application for a '93 and '90 245?

Thanks much!
