Adding cruise control 200 1986

Yes, you can add cruise to a 1986 240 with stick. The difference from a car with autobox is that an additional vacuum release must be installed for the clutch pedal.

I bought one off eBay last fall and installed it in my 1988 240 AW-70. Would have been very difficult but for (1) having a 1986 with cruise on it, (2) the purchase included the Volvo instructions, and (3) my neighborhood ACE hardware had the grommets and sealant that I needed. I did not do the installation exactly as the instructions said - varied the mounting and firewall penetrations.

Took a while, but works fine.
