Buzzing sound under car 200 1986

If the in-tank fuel pump is not working it will over-work the main pump causing it to overheat. There is also a sock filter in the tank that if clogged could cause a problem. Take off the gas cap and insert a hose down it and put your ear up to it and see if slight buzzing in the tank. If so, your in-tank fuel pump is working. Also consider new fuel filter. I would check these before investing in expense of main fuel pump.

Hope this helps.
