Starts -Won't Start -Starts ad infinitum 700 1987

Before I begin I have replaced the Jetronic computer and the Air Flow sensor.

This has been a progressive problem for months.
However in 90% of the cases after the car has sat for a good deal of time (30 minutes, not enough time for it to cool down totally, to 8 hours} it will crank right over. Though 10% of the time that makes no difference.
Absolutly 100% of the time if I slip off the enfold air tube, open the butter fly valve and spray a little starter fluid, carb cleaner, alcohol, gas or maybe even oven-cleaner it cranks right up without fail. This all takes like 30 seconds and always works but it sure is a hassle.
Thanks for any help you could provide.
