No start 200 1987

Thanks Chris,
Earlier today I cleaned the contacts on the alternator and replaced the alternator gound wire, which seem to do the trick. I took the car to the gas station and on the way back it stalled and would not start. I received a jumped and drove the car back home. I let it run for about 30 minutes. I turned it off and back on a few times. It started each time. This is leading me to believe there is a possible short in the alternator wiring??? Also, the previous owner had battery replaced, which is smaller than the original and secured with a bungee cord.

I've had the car about a week and I am trying to work some of the bugs out of it. This website has been a great source for information and ideas. Thanks again to all who have responded to this post.

Scott
