i drove 1,500 miles two quarts low... 900

well,i was an idiot not to check the oil on my '93 945turbo before i left FL to drive back to michigan, but the car drove like a champ as usual. i was shocked, then, to see i was two quarts low once i was home. my local mechanic said it was the rear main seal. well, i just had that done in december, so i took it back to my volvo mechanic who did it, and he's gonna 're-repair' it today.

question is: did i damage my engine as i leaked oil all along I-75? granted it wasn't at two quarts the whole time, but that was a long drive(with significant turbo use...) is there any way to tell if damage was done?

i don't know the mechanics of these cars, just that i've had three that've served me well. makes me sick to have a dumbass thing like this happen. and should a volvo-trained mechanic need two trys to fix a rear main seal??? and if damage is likely, should the mechanic be partly responsible for that repair/replacement???

thanks for your advice,
byron

'93 945 turbo 118k, '84 245 195k won't run- want it?
