Seat differences 200

Hello,

Just did my 82 242 this week. I used foam from the passenger side off a 4DR junker. You have to cut a slot in the foam for the seat release, so when you remove the old foam use it as a templet for cutting the new. Also the the two door has less large springs in the seat back but uses two small springs on the top of the seat. All went well, with the biggest PITA being attaching the two large springs to the seat back. You have to expand the springs and push the foam inward at the same time so that when you release the spring tension it graps the seat back metal. A good site is :

Check the seat rebuilding page it was very helpful. Just remember the two door seat back is different. If possible take some digital pictures of the seat backs before you take them apart for referance. Good luck.

Mario

I forgot to add that that pre 86 seat backs are different than 86 on. Since all two doors are pre 86 keep that in mind.
