AC - HC 12A Freon 200

I going to fix my AC in my 83 240. I purchased a rebuilt York compressor and Volo upgarde kit. Can I do all or part the work myself? Any tips or tools I might need? Will the volvo Kit come with instuctions? Has anyone used HC 12a as a replacement for 134a freon? http://autocool-refrigerants.com/
Thanks for any help in keeping me cool in hot Arizona.
