Much debated: Oil to use in M47 200

Last weekend I put a M47 in my car. The shops were closed and I realy needed to use the car right away, but didn't have the right tranny oil. So I just poured some cheepo semi-synthetic 10W30 motor oil in it.
Runs ok, but shifts a bit hard into 1st. (not caused by the reverse knob)

Right now I am to buy the right oil, but although this subject is much debated, what should I get?

For the M46 the best would be synthetic oil such as Redline MTL, or a Type F ATF. But isn't that just for the M46? Couldn't I just use some 30W tranny oil for the M47, or does the M47 also need ATF? (although it's a manual)

So what should or what should I not get?

Thank, Ben
